Management of Resources and Competencies
The MRC RG conducts research to understand the dynamic relationship between organisations´ resources, core competencies, and workforce skills and how these elements contribute to the organisation's competitive advantage, sustainability, and overall performance. The RG seeks to identify strategies for optimising organisational efficiency to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and adaptation to changing environments. The RG has provided valuable insights and practical recommendations to enhance inclusion, businesses strategic management, talent development, and competitiveness. The RG also addresses the growing challenge of reconciling human factor and human capital with AI.
Its researchers work on several running projects with external funding, namely: ENFEM (Asylum, Migration and Inclusion) (described in 8.2), EMSIV (funded by Erasmus 2027 - Capacity building in the field of higher education), ENCARE - Enhancing Capacities of UAS staff for more successful EU funded Research (Erasmus+ KA2- Cooperation partnerships in higher education). Within the scope of Soft Skills Assessment for Teaching Millennials and Generation Z (Funding program: Erasmus+ KA2 - Cooperation partnerships for VET), researchers will deliver tools for training teachers’ social skills and effectiveness to enhance students´ outcomes and social competencies.
Future research plans are focused on migrants inclusion in Europe, namely through Beyond my Borders-the reframing of the narrative on migration, through gamification and digital storytelling approaches (submitted to Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships for adult education) and also in preparing a new wave of professionals to address worldwide environmental issues by developing the necessary knowledge and tools to promote entrepreneurship for sustainable businesses, namely skills related to the use of satellite data for environmental sustainability through COSMODATA (proposal submitted to Erasmus Edu-2024-PI-All-Inno; Coordinator: IPP ISCAP).
